BioMaCon

People tend to see the world only from their own perspective. For people from the Western world there are two major problems: energy scarcity and climate change.

There are, however, more significant problems - in particular, the world population explosion and hunger. These issues are overshadowed by energy scarcity, climate change and economic crisis. Yet, for a significant part of the world's population hunger is an existential problem. Those who provide technology solutions should therefore set the following priority order:

1. HUNGER

A sufficient amount of arable land and good soil fertility are prerequisites for the world's population food supply. Biochar provides a basis for the preservation, improvement and restoration of the soil fertility.

2. ENVIRONMENT

The treatment of biomass with the BioMaCon BioMassConverter involves two different kinds of CO₂ reducing methods.

1.	Ideological CO₂ reduction:	Fossil fuels are replaced by renewable resources. The CO₂ content in the atmosphere rises less than by the use of fossil fuels.
2.	Physical CO₂ reduction:	BioMaCon uses only the volatile components of the biomass for energy production. The carbon contained in the biomass is converted into chemically stable biochar, which is used for soil improvement purposes. What is more, one kilogram of carbon binds 3.6 kilograms of CO₂.

3. ENERGY

Fossil fuels are getting scarcer. It is most desirable to replace imported fossil fuels with local, less expensive energy sources. Biogenic waste materials are often an interesting economical alternative.

4. PROSPERITY

In many countries electricity and water supply are based on the use of conventional diesel generators. Energy is getting more expensive. People are getting poorer.
